The most troubling aspect is that in 2015, Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (ESRI) petitioned the US Government for 71 H1B Visa foreign workers instead of hiring Americans and/or legal residents. This is after ESRI encouraged high schools, junior colleges, and universities to spend millions of taxpayer dollars to build and staff Geographic Information Systems (GIS) computer labs, and students to spend tens of thousands of dollars on training, software, and computer systems to become proficient in GIS.
